Elders in London struggle with language barriers, social isolation, and limited access to healthcare and essential services.
At Senior Care, we understand the importance of maintaining open communication and involving families in the care process.
More About UsWe value the relationships we build with both our clients and their loved ones, actively listening to their concerns, preferences.
For three decades, the Eritrean Elders Welfare Association (EEWA) has been dedicated in running programs have helped combat isolation, promote well-being, and ensure that every elder in our community lives with dignity and respect.
EEWA has provided a safe space, social engagement, and cultural support to Eritrean elders in the UK.
Now more than ever, we are working to provide even more opportunities, improve healthcare access, and ensure every elder receives the care and attention they deserve.
At EEWA, we are not a care provider, but we play a crucial role in supporting elders through social engagement, health and well-being programs, and community-driven initiatives. We provide a space where elders can gather, share experiences, enjoy meals, and participate in cultural activities. Additionally, we are actively growing our services, bringing in funding and expertise to support the health, mobility, and well-being of our elders.
With over 30 years of experience, we have been the trusted hub for Eritrean elders seeking community, guidance, and support. Our history of organizing events, providing safe social spaces, and facilitating cultural gatherings has helped us build a strong foundation to serve our members effectively. Now, we are expanding and improving, ensuring that elders receive more structured and impactful support.
While our work has traditionally focused on social engagement, we recognize the increasing need for health-related support. With new funding and partnerships, we are now offering more structured healthcare services, that include, Health workshops and NHS training (through partnerships with OpenAge & Ubuntu Pledge), Guidance on accessing medical care and digital health services
and Support for transportation to medical appointments.
Our programs are designed with our elders in mind, ensuring that they remain connected to their Eritrean heritage while embracing the support and services available in the UK. We understand that language barriers, cultural differences, and unfamiliarity with the system can create obstacles for many elders. That’s why we provide culturally sensitive programs, language support, and community-driven initiatives that reflect the unique needs of Eritrean elders.
Remember to tailor the event descriptions to the specific details, dates, and location of your Senior Care company's events. These event posts aim to engage and connect seniors, their families, and the community.
